6 years and counting...

It’s six years today since I started Collier Design and began working as a freelance designer.

This year I continued to work with Lloyds Banking Group on some exciting projects. As Lead Designer in their Machine Intelligence programme, I developed an extensive UI and design system for chatbots and conversational interfaces as well as leading numerous other projects.

I have also been lucky enough to work with Andy Shanks at Ideas Made again, designing The Guardian’s World Cup All-Time XI interactive, and another former colleague, Nick Horne at Great State, creating the visuals for a pitch for the new King’s Cross development website.

As for the next twelve months, there’s already some really interesting new projects lined up, including another potential collaboration with Ideas Made.

Thanks again to everyone who has made the last six years possible.

World Cup All-Time XIs

The Guardian have kick-started their World Cup 2018 coverage with a new interactive feature allowing readers to pick their all-time best team for each country. I was really excited to work with Andy Shanks and the team at Ideas Made again to make it happen.

I designed the UX and UI, working within the Guardian's existing templates and taking inspiration from the visual style the team at the Guardian had created for their World Cup coverage. The interactive feature, which launched on 28th May, is fully responsive, working on their website as well as within their mobile apps.

Readers can get inspiration from all-time XIs chosen by former players like Cafu for Brazil, Viv Anderson for England and Marcel Desailly for France, as well as see how their team compares to the popular vote.

You can find an index of each of the All-Time XIs on The Guardian website.

King's Cross pitch

This weekend, I was very excited to help the team at Great State on a new business pitch for the King’s Cross development website.

It was great to work with their Creative Director, Nick Horne, who I used to work at Agency Republic, again. Fingers-crossed the work will go down well with the client.
